Biography
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831–1891) was a Russian occultist, philosopher, and author who co-founded the Theosophical Society in 1875. She gained international fame for her purported psychic abilities and her books on ancient wisdom and spiritual evolution.
Blavatsky's writings synthesized elements of Eastern and Western spirituality, introducing concepts like karma and reincarnation to Western audiences. Her work laid the groundwork for much of 20th-century esotericism and the New Age movement.
Major influence on Western spirituality, Eastern religious studies, and the entire New Age movement through Theosophy.
